Ongoing Research at Ochsner

The fall 2015 issue of Ochsner Journal features a special section dedicated to ongoing research at Ochsner. The section includes an update on research productivity and growth, an introduction to Ochsner’s Twelfth Annual Research Day, and a collection of research day abstracts.

The Ochsner Research Update by Dr. Richard Re focuses on the progress of clinical, translational, and health service investigations at Ochsner as well as the introduction of a new initiative—participation in the National Patient-Centered Clinical Research Network (PCORnet).

Dr. Abdul Sohail Rao introduces Ochsner’s Twelfth Annual Research Day held May 19, 2015. The event showcased the innovations and discoveries made by Ochsner physicians and scientists. The theme of this year’s Research Day was cardiovascular sciences, highlighting one of the Centers of Excellence at Ochsner.

The research section concludes with a collection of abstracts by medical students of The University of Queensland School of Medicine-Ochsner Clinical School, nursing staff, pharmacy residents, and clinical residents and fellows.
